Gota Canal stretches between Sjötorp at Vänern and Mem at the Baltic, with 58 locks. The channel’s total length is 190 km, of which 87 km are man-made. The channel reaches its highest point, 91.8 m, the lake Viken. Along with the Trollhättan Canal, Vanersborg Gothenburg, forms the canal a waterway through Sweden from coast to coast.
